Sr. BMDS Systems Engineer

Corvid's Colorado Springs team is looking to add an experienced engineer or analyst to help lead research & development efforts related to adding new capabilities to Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS). This role will specifically target technology that upgrades Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) to add capabilities that systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills, and will excel in a mission-focused workplace. The position will be part of a blended team of government stakeholders and industry partners, including multi-disciplined teams developing complex, multidisciplined technology solutions.
This unique opportunity will allow someone to work on highly technical tasks while interacting with key partners and customers, providing guidance to help generate solutions to complex technical challenges. The candidate will need the ability to shape and advance technical capabilities, providing thought leadership for missile defense projects as well as technical solutions/ideas that could achieve desired outcomes. Daily tasking will range from direct work on development efforts, shaping technology roadmaps and stimulating innovation within the technical team, and fostering a climate of collaboration across the program.
Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Top-Secret clearance
Position will require at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant experience working on BMDS programs (advanced degrees can sub for experience - preferred candidate will have a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering)
Proven ability to take initiative and offer technical thought leadership, even in uncertain situations or without specific requirements or guidance
Fluency in Linux environments, including shell scripting (bash, csh)
Familiarity with basic computer networking concepts (UDP, TCP/IP, network boundaries, firewalls)
Knowledge of C2BMC suite architecture and scripted automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Kubernetes)
Experience with Monte Carlo analysis, statistical regression, and other analytical techniques
Functional familiarity with modeling languages such as SysML or UML
Preferred candidate will possess a strong analytical background and experience with ballistic missile defense programs and domains, including participation in Ground Test and Flight Test campaigns
Experience with C2BMC systems or ballistic missile defense technologies is a plus
