Lead Residential Counselor
We are seeking a Lead Residential Counselor to support individuals with behavioral, intellectual, and developmental conditions in a small‑group residential setting or individual living arrangement. The role involves direct client support, medication administration, treatment implementation, and community connection.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting treatment plans including ISP/IPs and clinical programs.
Provide training and support for residents, covering rehabilitative interventions, behavioral monitoring, fire & safety, appointment scheduling, money management, ADLs, grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, household chores and related tasks.
Assist residents to integrate into their communities, plan recreational/social activities, and facilitate outings (shopping, medical appointments, church, etc.). Provide transportation as needed.
Assess residents’ physical/emotional status and report changes to supervisor.
Monitor residents’ funds.
Maintain records: collect behavior/academic data, enter EHR, document incidents, and log communications.
Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication per MAC requirements and company policy.
Communicate with program nurse, funding agency, case managers, visiting nurses, physicians, etc.
Participate in mandatory training, staff meetings, orientation of new staff, and compliance activities.
Ensure program site safety and maintenance (housekeeping, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, garbage removal).
Adhere to corporate policies: safe work practices, workers’ compensation, universal precautions, exposure control.
Complete paperwork and logs (communication, community membership, chore schedules, timesheets, application forms).
Maintain required staff‑to‑consumer ratio; perform last‑minute coverage if needed.
Act as human rights advocate; provide physical intervention, first aid, and report to Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
Maintain certifications, respond to work emails, and follow Vinfen administrative policies.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years residential counselor experience and a track record of teamwork and high performance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Age 21 + with valid U.S. driver’s license for at least 6 months; driving is a requirement.
Must obtain CPR, First Aid, Safety Care, and MAC certifications within 60 and 150 days of employment.
Successful completion of CORI and SORI reference, multi‑state background, and driving record check.
Pay Range USD $23.65 per hour.
