Project Engineer Position at Tutor Perini Corporation

Salary range: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience.

Location: Broadway Bridge project site in The Bronx, NY.

Description

Supports a field team consisting of Project Engineers, Superintendents, etc.

Take ownership of the closeout process in compliance with the contract documents; complete and implement project closeout checklist.

Manage financial closeout process with subcontractors and Owner.

Assist legal team with discovery and responding to FOIL requests (Freedom of Information Laws) and with claims and dispute related issues (research, compile and redact).

Identifies critical work items and procures long‑lead items.

Interprets designs and drawings for craftsmen installing.

Assists in preparing work plans.

Assists with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and processing change orders.

Reviews mock‑up and/or shop drawings and specifications.

Understands subcontractor job specifications and scope of work.

Responsible for the review and maintenance of subcontractor non‑compliance and coordinates with QA/QC.

Verifies that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications.

Assists in managing document control, project safety, and environmental requirements.

Helps develop or review design and work plans as required.

Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.

Performs material quantity takeoffs from contract documents.

Orders and schedules material deliveries.

Supervises field operations.

Assists in preparing purchase orders and subcontracts.

Assists in preparing schedules and performing updates.

Provides field support and supervises subcontractor operations.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar from accredited institution and 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Experience with heavy civil infrastructure projects (100 million+) required.

Strong background in cost/finance.

Knowledge of legal/contract and claims processes.

Proficiency with MS Office software; familiar with industry software such as ProCure, Primavera P6.

Strong written and verbal skills.
