Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal/ Litigation Assistant to join our San Diego office. This hybrid role blends paralegal support with administrative and front desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and familiar with litigation practice in both state and federal courts. You will support attorneys throughout all stages of civil litigation, from case intake to trial preparation, while also ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of litigation processes.

Litigation & Paralegal Support

File and serve pleadings, motions, and other documents with state, federal and appellate courts.

Assist attorneys with case management, including maintaining and organizing case files, documents, and evidence.

Accurately calculate, calendar, and track litigation deadlines.

Compile and organize digital files, mediation binders, trial notebooks and exhibits.

Prepare, proofread, and format pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence (including Table of Contents and Table of Authorities).

Conduct legal research and cite-check using Westlaw.

Assist with discovery, document review, and trial preparation.

Communicate with courts, process servers, clients, and opposing counsel.

Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness lists.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Administrative & Front Desk Duties

Professionally welcome and greet clients, vendors, and visitors, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.

Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with courtesy and efficiency, routing inquiries appropriately.

Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including courier and service deliveries.

Other administrative duties as needed (mailing, scanning, etc.).

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant and/or paralegal in civil litigation.

Proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing systems (state and federal).

Proficiency with Clio and Westlaw (or similar legal software).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent proofreading skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Dropbox, Box, OneLegal (or other e-filing service), and legal case management software.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
