Job Summary
The EVP of Supply Chain will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of the entire supply chain operation, from supplier evaluation to procurement to final delivery to customers. This role requires a visionary leader with deep analytical and problem‑solving skills to ensure cost‑effectiveness, efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction while adhering to all relevant compliance and quality standards (e.g., cGMP, chain of custody for sensitive products). Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals across planning, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and distribution functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute long‑term supply chain strategies that align with overall business objectives, improve productivity, and enhance efficiency
Procurement & Supplier Management: Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of lab supplies, equipment, and related products including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance monitoring to ensure quality and reliable supply. Build and maintain strong, forward‑thinking relationships with global suppliers
Inventory & Warehouse Management: Define and manage the North American inventory policy to optimize stock levels, prevent stockouts, and reduce carrying costs. Ensure efficient warehousing and storage, potentially including international warehousing and specific “chain‑of‑condition” requirements for sensitive products
Logistics & Distribution: Identify optimal shipping and transportation routes, negotiate with carriers and logistics providers, and ensure on‑time delivery to customers
Compliance & Risk Management: Accountable for all supply chain activities being in full compliance with EHS, labor, and industry‑specific regulations (e.g., cGMP, FDA, etc.). Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain resilience
Process Improvement & Technology: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and implement supply chain information systems (ERP, WMS, etc.) to increase visibility and efficiency
Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing supply chain team. Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, finance, operations, and quality assurance departments to align supply chain activities with business needs
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 10‑15 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role, preferably in B2B Distribution.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or relevant MSc) or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, Lean Six Sigma) are strongly preferred
Skills
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with expertise in statistical analysis and data modeling
Proven ability to manage complex, global supply chains and navigate international import/export requirements
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with ERP systems and specialized supply chain management software
Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on talent development and change management
Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance standards relevant to the industry
