The Chief of Staff to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the General Account at Equitable plays a pivotal role in supporting the strategic, operational, and financial initiatives of the Office of the CIO (OCIO). This role serves as a key advisor and thought partner to the CIO, ensuring alignment across investment strategies, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The Chief of Staff will manage multiple complex assignments, drive efficiency and productivity, and facilitate communication across internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Support key reporting lines in the $120bn General Account asset portfolio, focusing on numerous investment metrics, entities, strategies, portfolios, and asset classes.
Generate presentations for executive management that provide insight and recommendations on complex investment topics.
Serve as a point of contact to key OCIO stakeholders including Financial Planning & Analysis, Investor Relations, Investment Accounting, and Treasury.
Support Equitable’s ESG/Responsible Investment program, including implementation of ESG integration and impact investment initiatives, reporting, and disclosures.
Assist in drafting materials for Equitable’s investment committee and board of directors.
Coordinate strategic planning and execution of investment initiatives across the OCIO team.
Facilitate communication and alignment between the CIO and internal/external stakeholders.
Qualifications
5+ years experience in an investment analyst role, financial planning & analysis for a large company, and/or financial reporting role collaborating with numerous stakeholders.
Established prioritization skills with a clear focus on results.
Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and work within a fast‑paced, project‑driven, and team‑oriented environment.
Proven analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and drive change.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations that synthesize complex problems and recommended solutions.
Background in finance, investments, and/or insurance.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management.
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and professionalism in dealing with management.
Schedule This team member will be working a hybrid schedule of in‑office 2 to 3 days per week.
Compensation The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $170,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short‑term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
