Director, Inbound Audits

As Director of Inbound Audits you will contribute to this mission by fostering trust and transparency between the company and its clients. You will lead the process and response to external royalty audits, ensuring our accounting is clearly presented, questions are addressed with accuracy, and any discrepancies are resolved fairly. By combining rigorous analysis with professional communication, you will help strengthen confidence in our royalty accounting reporting practices.
Responsibilities
ngBe responsible to manage the full inbound audit process and communication with the external audit firm
s.Be involved in every step of the royalty audit process for both songwriter and recording artist client
s.Establish clear communication with the auditors and share information based on BMG’s best practice
s.Review incoming audit reports carefully and deduce the accuracy of the claim
s.Prepare and communicate BMG’s response to the audit repor
t.Review client contracts and ensure compliance with the royalty accountin
g.Liaise with senior executives, legal, finance, and client representative
s.Compile reports and source documents at the request of the auditor
s.Work closely with internal departments and foreign affiliates as needed to address audit inquire
s.Review and finetune internal processes and best practices for audit
s.Log and document audit related status, data and communicatio
Qualifications
ingPrevious experience in royalty accounting or royalty audit in the music business (music publishing and/or recorded musi
c).Strong data analysis skills — able to interpret large datasets, statements, and royalty repor
ts.Excellent written and verbal communication skil
ls.Advanced excel skil
ls.Deep knowledge of the music publishing and/or recorded music industry, including rights structures, royalty flows, and licensing agreemen
ts.Capability to design and improve audit strategies, methodologies, and internal process
es.Proficiency in royalty systems, databases, and BI too

Pay Range $90,000-96,000 per annum. The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications, and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
