Our diverse portfolio includes FDA‑approved treatments for tardive dyskinesia, chorea associated with Huntington’s disease, classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia, endometriosis and uterine fibroids, as well as a robust pipeline with multiple compounds in mid‑ to late‑phase clinical development across our core therapeutic areas.

About the Role Responsible for building and leading a high‑performing, collaborative, customer‑focused sales team capable of successfully launching and growing products in unique and dynamic specialty markets. Builds a specialty sales organization consisting of first line field leaders and their teams to execute commercial strategy and enable the company’s commercial organization to grow currently marketed products and future commercial products and indications, and exceed both short/long term business goals.

Your Contributions

Design, build and lead a first‑class field sales organization which will possess the experience and capabilities required to realize near‑term and longer‑term commercial goals

Create complete business plans for designated product/markets that are aligned to overarching commercial strategy and growth projections

Provide leadership and strategic direction to first line leadership sales team (regional specialty managers) that ensures accountability to performance management and compliance standards

In alignment with the overall commercial strategy, create, drive and communicate a customer‑centric sales force that pulls business initiatives through the organization and elevates the voice of health care professionals, patients and their caregivers in every key touch‑point

Fosters innovation in sales approaches and practices and ensures effective cross‑functional leadership and collaboration with marketing and human resources

Accountable for zone or national performance objectives including sales and financial results, effective leader development coaching, mentoring and utilization of resources

Provide strong leadership and direction to identify opportunities, maximize business results and work collaboratively with other key commercial functions across Neurocrine to address customer needs

In alignment with the Commercial leadership, identify, develop, communicate and implement a framework of national sales objectives and tactics that will result in a high‑performing sales organization

Networks across the enterprise to ensure cross‑functional alignment of key strategies and tactics, and ensure effective communication and implementation at the regional level

Exercise sound judgment, ensure integrity and uphold the highest ethical standards to reinforce the importance of corporate compliance in all field sales activities and customer interactions

Participate in strategic planning and make recommendations to commercial leadership regarding commercial strategies, field resource optimization, targeting, incentive compensation and tactical execution plans

Foster a culture of competitive spirit, accountability, teamwork, innovation and responsibility to the patients we serve

Lead by example in upholding our standards from a compliance perspective and demonstrate the Neurocrine values: Passion, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation and Tenacity

Requirements

BS/BA degree AND 17+ years of progressive leadership experience in specialty pharmaceutical or biotech sales management, including extensive field sales management and product launch experience leading and developing others in highly complex and competitive environments. Experience managing a regional specialty sales force is preferred. Experience in building/expanding and leading a pharmaceutical/biotech sales force during rapid growth, preferably in specialty pharmaceuticals, rare disease, endocrinology, psychiatry, or neurology. OR

MBA preferred AND 15+ years of related experience OR

PhD preferred AND 12+ years of related experience

Ability to effectively operate in a complex environment which includes highly varied sites of care and specialty pharmacy fulfillment

Proven ability, as supported by superior product/portfolio performance, to set and achieve challenging business objectives

Thorough understanding of industry standards, multiple customer segments, specialty product distribution and market access fundamentals

Results‑oriented and able to thrive within a fast‑paced, high‑energy entrepreneurial environment

This position requires frequent driving, therefore a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a motor vehicle are required as part of the job responsibilities

Acts as a "trusted advisor" across the company and may be recognized as an external expert

Provides strategy, vision and direction regarding issues that may have company‑wide impact

Requires in‑depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company’s goals

Possesses industry‑leading knowledge

Superior leadership skills to attract talented staff, build effective relationships, and keep the team focused on the key metrics that drive business success

Must be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, decisive

Ability to quickly learn and think independently

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with peers, management, and leadership both within and outside the Company

Excellent managerial skills and experience fostering career development of direct and indirect reports

Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others

Ability to work with a team of individuals to meet organizational goals

Benefits The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $255,000.00–$348,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an incentive compensation plan with a target of $90,000.00 annually and eligibility to participate in our equity‑based long‑term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
