Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Position: Assistant Professor, Rank: Assistant, Full‑time, Tuition‑support, tenure‑track, academic year. Appointment begins August 17, 2026. Salary range: $135,100 – $149,300, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
About the Department The Management, HR and Information Systems Area of the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo offers a forward‑thinking, career‑focused faculty team. Required Qualifications
Completed or expected completion of a doctorate or equivalent degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution; PhD/DBA awarded by Fall 2026.
Exemplary teaching record.
Strong publication record and research pipeline.
Currency in the professional field.
Preferred Qualifications
Exemplary teaching, strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in the professional field.
Special Conditions The person holding this position is considered a “mandated reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083. After a conditional offer, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be satisfactorily completed before start. Failure to complete satisfactorily may result in withdrawal of the offer. Cal Poly does not deny a position solely or in part due to criminal conviction history until an individualized assessment links the conviction to job duties. Current employees offered campus positions must also undergo background checks where required.
