Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. Responsibilities
Assist in schematic design, PCB layout, and component selection for automotive ECUs
Support hardware prototyping, soldering, and rework of ECU boards
Perform functional and diagnostic testing of ECUs using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)
Help develop and execute test plans for validation and verification of ECU performance
Interface with simulation tools and test benches to evaluate ECU behavior under various conditions
Document test results, design changes, and troubleshooting steps
Collaborate with engineers to debug hardware and firmware issues
Maintain lab organization, inventory, and ESD‑safe practices
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a relevant technical or engineering program
Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit theory
Familiarity with lab tools: multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, etc.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or microcontroller programming
Knowledge of CAD tools like Altium
Familiarity with lab safety and ESD precautions
