Job Overview We are looking for a Controls Engineer who is open to new opportunities and a long-term role. You will want to grow professionally, help the company expand its services and solutions and develop your career in the Electrical and Controls department. You will review and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery, and will be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.

Duties and Responsibilities Software Design and Development

Develop and maintain PLC equipment control interface to the digital suite, based on a variety of programmable controllers, such as Siemens S7F and TIA, Allen Bradley ControlLogix and others.

Accountable for writing transparent code from scratch that is highly reusable, modular, and maintainable.

Set an example to other employees by means of arriving promptly on schedule, keeping a neat and organized work area, and maintaining a personal calendar, journal, and task list.

Meet daily with Project Managers for a detailed review of all current tasks and projects. Purpose of review is to ensure adherence to the company’s specified method, practice, and procedure.

Establish a foundation of Engineering concepts and principals to grow technically and professionally.

Maintain a self-directed enthusiasm for new concepts and technologies, utilizing all unassigned time for training exercises and shadowing experienced Engineers.

Develop the ability to design and document equipment function and interconnectivity to form efficient control systems.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineer preferred (not essential).

Experience within automation control systems.

Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5, 500, Studio 5000 or Siemens S7, S7F, TIA Portal.

Able to program from scratch without support preferred (not essential).

Experience with industrial networking such as PROFINET and Ethernet/IP is a plus.

Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Ability to travel between 20% - 40% to customer sites as required.

Able to facilitate discussions and give presentations with highly technical content.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task and to work in dynamic business environments.

Self-motivated and results oriented.

Ability to use judgement and make decisions independently.

Teamwork oriented to resolve problems and achieve goals.

Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills.
