Data Analyst II, Powertrain Data & Automation
Join Lucid Motors as a Data Analyst II in the Powertrain Data & Automation team. We are looking for a highly motivated analyst to focus on data analytics and predictive modeling for Powertrain components to ensure reliability, performance, and fleet readiness for commercial ride‑hailing deployment.
Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.
We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design—where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. When you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.
Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.
Responsibilities
Perform in-depth root cause analysis of Powertrain failures and performance deviations across Drive Unit, MPB, and Inverter systems.
Leverage high‑frequency telemetry, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and EOL test data to isolate component‑level issues.
Build structured failure mode classification and statistical analysis frameworks to support engineering teams’ troubleshooting.
Contribute to the design and implementation of end‑to‑end fleet health monitoring pipelines for the Uber Gravity fleet.
Integrate real‑time vehicle telemetry streams, signal processing, and anomaly detection models to enable proactive fault identification.
Develop alerting and visualization dashboards to provide engineering and operations teams with actionable fleet health insights.
Develop and deploy statistical and ML models (e.g., regression, time‑series forecasting) to characterize Powertrain component degradation over time.
Quantify failure probabilities, forecast performance drift, and support reliability growth plans and operational readiness.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
3+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in automotive, mobility, or related industries.
Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn) and SQL for data analysis and modeling.
Experience working with large‑scale time‑series and telemetry datasets.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Dash).
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
Preferred
Experience with vehicle Powertrain systems (e.g., Drive Unit, Inverter, Battery, MPB).
Knowledge of anomaly detection, signal processing, and predictive maintenance techniques.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Databricks, Dremio) and version control (e.g., Git).
Experience working in a cross‑functional engineering environment.
Why Join Us?
Be part of a high‑impact team enabling the future of autonomous ride‑hailing.
Work with cutting‑edge Powertrain technologies and real‑world fleet data.
Collaborate closely with vehicle design, manufacturing, reliability, and operations teams.
Build scalable analytics pipelines and predictive models for a next‑generation EV platform.
Additional Compensation and Benefits Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401(k). The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
