Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Surveyor, incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of surveying functions in support of project delivery, public requests and records retention, data management, and technology implementation. A valid driver’s license is required when operating state vehicles. This position may require field work in San Bernardino and Riverside County. Travel may be required.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the SENIOR TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR (CALTRANS) exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Special Requirements
Possession of a valid California Land Surveyors' License. (A Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors prior to January 1, 1982 satisfies this requirement.)
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
