Job Description The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing one or more large research projects. The role oversees the day‑to‑day operations of studies, providing comprehensive and complex project management in a fast‑paced, high‑volume research environment. The Project Manager manages communication, information exchange, and workflow among internal and external research team members, and collaborators, and records, reviews, documents, distributes, and archives proposals and work products. The position works closely with team members to provide quality assurance of data and work products, and provides text and graphical content as requested for manuscripts and presentations. For some projects, the Project Manager works with collaborating institutions to arrange data exchanges, manages databases, directs data processing; works with the team to develop survey instruments; and coordinates, supervises, and tracks the recruitment and participation of research subjects and community partners. The Project Manager plays a key role in planning new projects, including facilitating discussion of data sources, analytic methods, and deliverables, and will reach out to faculty and staff to facilitate data retention, curation, and sharing through a repository and direct reuse policies. The role creates or reviews documents to assure compliance with requirements of human subjects research review committees, data granting agencies, and funding agencies, and manages vendor services. The Project Manager works with minimum supervision. This position involves daily work with external partners, human subjects, and other confidential materials, and regularly requires independent judgment and action.

This is a fixed‑term position with a current end date of September 30, 2027, which may be extended based on the availability of grant funding. The position is Hybrid.

Job Qualifications And Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in public health, pre‑medicine, social science, gerontology, economics, or other social or physical science and 5 years of research project experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; or a Master’s in Public Health; or a Master’s degree in a social science, gerontology, economics, or other social or physical science with concurrent research experience. All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification that are satisfactory to Brown University.
