Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor, English [R0149472]. The Department of English is searching for a writer of Literary Nonfiction with an MFA or PhD and at least one published book of Literary Nonfiction. This is a full‑time, nine‑month, tenure‑track position beginning in fall 2026. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate students in creative writing and a forms course, as well as advising graduate students on thesis manuscripts and translation projects and serving on departmental committees.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in creative writing and literary nonfiction.
Advise graduate students on thesis manuscripts, translation projects, and creative dissertation research.
Serve on departmental and university committees.
Contribute to program development, community engagement, and diversity initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
MFA, PhD, or equivalent in English with a concentration in Literary Nonfiction.
Demonstrated significant publication record with at least one book of Literary Nonfiction in print or in press by a nationally recognized publisher at the time of hire.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
ABD candidates will be considered.

Experience in literary translation.
