Job Title
Park Construction and Renovation Project Coordinator Location: Parks and Recreation Employment Type: Full‑Time, Regular. Annual Salary Range: $57,816.62 – $67,452.72 About the Role
Join the City of Plano as a Park Construction and Renovation Project Coordinator. In this role you lead a team of licensed irrigators, manage park renovation projects, and work with contractors, engineers, and community partners to bring improvement projects to life. From maintaining lush athletic fields to supporting local events and tournaments, your work helps ensure Plano’s athletic parks remain places our community is proud of. Responsibilities
Oversee and inspect park renovation projects to ensure compliance with City standards, best practices and City Ordinance. Supervise a field team of licensed irrigators. Coordinate planning, budgeting, bidding, purchasing, contract management and project management. Review and evaluate site plans, construction documents, specifications and estimates. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, planners, and others to prepare and modify plans as required. Monitor projects for accuracy and recommend design or material changes when appropriate. Evaluate park facilities and athletic sites, recommending improvements. Identify projects for long‑range planning proposals. Protect existing park infrastructures from damage during construction. Ensure compliance with state, local and TCEQ regulations for irrigation design and installation. Respond to citizen complaints and inquiries. Prepare and deliver presentations to the Park and Recreation Planning Board and interest groups. Work weekends as part of the Athletics Workgroup. Maintain regular and consistent attendance. Qualifications
Knowledge of construction techniques within a park system, landscaping, irrigation and engineering standards, equipment, materials, and products used, governmental purchasing policies, building, electrical, and plumbing codes. Strong communication skills (verbal and written), computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software). Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and measurements. Interpret engineering, landscape and other related blueprints and construction drawings; inspect, compare, and evaluate plans with actual work performed. Bachelor’s degree in Park Administration, Landscape Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Three years of project management experience in parks or comparable improvement projects, including one year of supervisory experience. Licenses and Certifications
Texas Class C driver’s license. State of Texas Irrigator’s License. Physical Demands & Working Conditions
The position requires mobility in a standard office setting and in the field, ability to traverse uneven terrain, operate a motor vehicle, use tools and equipment, lift up to 35 pounds, and may involve exposure to loud noise, temperature extremes, inclement weather, road hazards, and hazardous substances. Regular walking, active support during weekends, and on‑call rotation (typically one week) are required. Occasional overtime may be required. Equal Employment Opportunity
