About the Role The Senior Paralegal is an integral part of the Legal Professional and Paralegal team and will be responsible for providing expertise and support to the attorneys in the Litigation & Trial department, while managing all aspects of litigation case preparation, including document review, case file organization, and trial preparation. This role will be located in our Washington, D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include:
Working with, supporting, and/or managing multiple litigation and trial teams simultaneously
Coordinating and assisting in the discovery process including gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documents for production, with the guidance of an attorney; managing and utilizing eDiscovery platforms
Communicating with eDiscovery support teams regarding the development and enforcement procedures for litigation holds and other issues related to electronically stored information
Assisting with the preparation of legal documents including pleadings, motions, and exhibits, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and deadlines
Assisting in preparing witnesses for deposition, internal client investigations, and assisting attorneys with client interviews by assembling witness binders, containing interview memos, digests, and relevant documents
Preparing for and attending trial; coordinating with Trial Technology and Contracts teams regarding technology set-up, and maintenance at the trial location, organizing exhibits, files and all other supporting documents; making arrangements for transporting and setting up files at court; assisting with taking notes, handling exhibits, gathering documents referred by counsel, research regarding testimony, witness preparation, track exhibits offered and admitted; interacting with clients, witnesses and court personnel
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Display knowledge of security-related practices and documentation, state and federal level filing requirements, document management and productions, fact and expert witness preparation, Bluebooking, and cite checking
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of applications typically used in a legal office environment, such as billing software and databases, legal research tools, litigation software, and internet searching skills
Possess knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
And have:
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent
A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or signed declaration if located in a California office
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience with a focus on complex litigation cases
