Airframe Mechanic Team Lead

Compensation & Perks

Pay (hourly)

Full‑time position 7 AM – 4 PM (with one hour lunch break 12–1 PM)

Responsibilities

Provide leadership to mechanics to keep them focused on their responsibilities and tasks.

Consistently monitor performance of assigned crew for quality, efficiency, and timeliness of work.

Work with the Maintenance Operations Manager to ensure project maintenance and modification is completed in accordance with documentation and meets customers’ requirements.

Follow company standard work practices.

Review routine and non‑routine tasks to identify planned action in a timely manner, as well as necessary parts, materials, and tooling needed for each applicable non‑routine task assigned.

Follow proper aircraft procedures when making decisions regarding aircraft maintenance and modifications.

Ensure necessary parts are ordered for assigned project.

Ensure proper paperwork is completed for assigned project.

Understand and apply FAA regulations and standards.

Work with the Maintenance Operations Manager to correct or reward personnel behavior as needed.

Approve employee timesheets on a weekly basis.

Write performance reviews for employees on an annual basis.

Review and approve expense reports and PTO requests.

Attend daily stand‑up meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant license.

High school education or equivalent is required, while some college is preferred.

Ability to lead a group of mechanics to complete projects within a given timeframe.

Ability to multi‑task well in a fast‑pace work environment.

Ability to read drawings, manuals, regulations, perform mathematical calculations, and other documentation to ensure proper build and modification completion.

Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions.

Ability to lift, balance, and carry 50 lbs, crawl in and out of tight spaces, and predominantly work in enclosed hangars, occasionally in exterior weather conditions or elevated heights.
