Position Summary The incumbent performs a variety of instructional and classroom support and student supervision duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students.

Compensation Initial wage placement according to NCSD/OSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Classified Wage Schedule 2025‑2026: Step 2 $21.85, Step 3 $22.93, Step 4 $24.10, Step 5 $25.30, Step 6 $26.58, Step 7 $27.90, Step 8 $29.30, Step 9 $30.76.

Retirement Plan Contributions North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP). Employees contribute 6% of pay after qualifying; part‑time workers meeting 600 hours qualify.

Schedule 8:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.; subject to change depending on department needs.

Work Calendar 180 days.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or two years of post‑high school education in appropriate areas of study, or a written ETS competency exam pass.

Certification or to become certified in first aid, CPR, and/or operation of defibrillators.

Ability to work in an interrupt‑heavy environment with changing tasks and priorities.

Skill to assist, console, and manage students who may be emotional or frustrated.

Ability to remain calm, focused, and in control around challenging students, parents, and community members.

Follow written and verbal direction and take initiative to seek clarity when needed.

Knowledge of classroom management and student discipline procedures.

Proficiency in the English language for proper enunciation, spelling, and syntax.

Organize work and set priorities for efficient completion.

Protect confidentiality of student information consistent with FERPA.

Collaborate effectively with staff, students, parents, volunteers, and community members.

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Skill with office and computer equipment and standard office software and student information system software.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field.

Two years of experience working successfully with children in a learning environment.

Bilingual and bicultural skills in common district languages (Spanish, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese).

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Assist teachers in assessment, curriculum support, student interactions, enforcing safe behaviors, and enhancing social growth.

Implement behavior support and intervention plans; document student behavior and maintain progress reports.

Provide limited first aid and assess injuries when necessary.

Maintain discretion and protect student confidentiality in all communications.

Utilize training to manage student behavior and ensure safety; de‑escalate at risk students following district procedures.

Provide instructional support and tutoring in large groups, small groups, and one‑on‑one settings.

Oversee student safety during recess, playground supervision, bus duty, crossing guard duty, hallway supervision, etc.

Provide toileting, feeding, mobility, and personal hygiene duties as needed.

Perform clerical duties such as making copies, operating office equipment, answering phones, ordering materials, record keeping.

Perform other duties as assigned.
