Job Description
Responsible for managing and executing procurement and design support tasks related to engineering projects, ensuring compliance, and maintaining project documentation and schedules.
Responsibilities General
Create parts and requisitions in the ERP system.
Review SDRLs (Supplier Data Requirements List) to ensure proper documentation is procured for all equipment.
Maintain procurement for all projects including BOM, Kanban, Min/Max, and Buffer.
Work with Designers/Engineers to provide weekly BOMs to the CAD Integration department for all projects.
Coordinate change support with Engineers/Designers to include BOM and Engineering Product estimates.
Maintain Technical Specifications in coordination with Project Engineer.
Maintain department processes and corresponding documentation.
Assist Project Engineers with metrics development and tracking.
Coordinate and execute product formatting and submittal to Document Control.
Comply with Austal’s employee handbook general guidelines, company procedures, and policies.
Act as a Compliance Champion for the organization and promote a culture of compliance.
Support the business unit Tier 1 Compliance Lead in responsibilities as required.
Class Design Services (CDS)
Develop and maintain schedules in Microsoft Project for class design services activity.
Coordinate change support with Deputy Program Engineers and Designers to include Engineering Product estimates and schedule updates.
Assist Project Engineers with metrics development and tracking.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience General
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products required.
Demonstrated working knowledge of PDF Writer preferred.
Demonstrated working knowledge of AUTOCAD preferred.
Experience operating within an ERP system preferred.
Experience with ShipConstructor preferred.
Experience with BizFlow preferred.
Class Design Services (CDS)
Experience in tracking and coordinating construction or engineering projects preferred.
Experience in Government projects (Earned Value Management Systems) preferred.
Tools Computer – Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PDF Writer, ShipConstructor, IFS
Directorship / Direction Exercised As required.
Discretion / Description Exercised As required.

Additional Guidelines
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary.
18 years of age or older at time of application.
Able to provide proof of U.S. Person Status.
No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date.
No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date.
Willing to submit to a drug screen.
Willing to submit to a background check.
Work Environment The work environment may expose the employee to humid conditions, bright flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles below the PEL, toxic or caustic chemicals, and heat and cold is possible. Noise levels typically exceed +90 dB.
Safety Must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations while performing daily job tasks.
