A boutique Family Law Firm in Reno, NV seeks an experienced full-time Paralegal to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong discovery skills who can work independently while supporting a busy litigation practice.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Paralegal; candidates with Family Law experience will be prioritized
Familiarity with local court rules and procedures;
including NCRP 16.1 Initial Disclosures and NRCP 16.2 Mandatory Family Law Disclosures
Strong background in managing discovery in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support, and property division matters
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple discovery deadlines and case tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication for interaction with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other parties
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is necessary for this position
Paralegal certification or other relevant degree is preferred
A positive, outgoing, team-oriented attitude
Job Duties
Primary responsibility for discovery management: Draft, prepare, and track NRCP 16.1 Initial Disclosures and NRCP 16.2 Financial Disclosures; Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for productions, and requests for admissions; Organize and manage document productions, discovery binders, and exhibits for hearings and trial; Maintain discovery calendars and ensure compliance with all deadlines
Assist attorneys in drafting documents pleadings, motions, and other court filings
Communicate with clients to gather documents and financial records, and provide guidance on disclosure obligations
Coordinate, schedule, and calendar all case deadlines, court hearings, and related events
