Banquet Captain The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading the banquet team during events to ensure flawless execution and outstanding guest service. This position acts as the main point of contact between the banquet staff, kitchen, and event organizers. The Banquet Captain ensures all events are set up properly, run smoothly, and are broken down efficiently, in alignment with the Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and The Queen’s service standards.
Essential Functions
Coordinate the setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet functions.
Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure all event requirements are met.
Lead, train, and support banquet servers and porters during events.
Serve as the primary liaison between clients, kitchen staff, and banquet team.
Conduct pre‑event meetings to review details and assign responsibilities.
Monitor service quality, food presentation, and staff performance.
Respond to guest needs, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure all banquet areas remain clean, safe, and organized throughout the event.
Assist with setup, serving, and breakdown tasks as needed.
Complete post‑event paperwork and provide feedback to management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality training or degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet or catering service.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in high‑pressure environments.
Proficient in reading and interpreting BEOs and event timelines.
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and be on feet for extended periods.
Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
