The North American business divisions (Gerdau Long Steel North America and Gerdau Specialty Steel North America) produce long and special steel products for the agriculture, energy, industrial, automotive, and manufacturing markets. G.Future: Gerdau’s Next Generation of Leaders To invest in junior talent, Gerdau offers G.Future, a program designed to develop future leaders for the company. As members of this leadership program, participants will be put through an intensive 18‑month program that utilizes on‑the‑job learning, classroom training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship from various leaders to shape the G.Future into our future managerial and technical leaders. Some of the experiences include:
Responsible for solving large- and small-scale problems; e.g., proposing, developing, and implementing digital solutions for business opportunities, analyzing and selecting technology solutions, working with data and analytics, and emerging technologies.
Lead the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
Participate in a mentorship program with a seasoned professional.
Visit customers and suppliers to gain in‑depth knowledge of the business.
Gain a holistic view of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America and traveling across the U.S. and Canada.
Interact with other G.Future participants to tackle organization challenges.
Develop managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
Use software such as SAP, MES, and Excel.
Procurement Responsibilities This position supports the Procurement Department and provides exposure to all commodities (direct, indirect materials & services, capex). Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Creation of purchase orders and support in the procure-to-pay (P2P) process
Building relationships with key end users across US/Canada locations
Developing long‑term strategy in category management
Managing the strategic sourcing process (RFI/RFP)
Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best commercial offersExecuting supply agreements and legal contracts
Reporting & data analytics (SAP ECC, SAP Ariba, PowerBI)
Special projects for process improvements & automation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline
Recent college graduate within the last two years (or enrolling before program starts)
Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred 3.0 or higher)
Preference for those with a degree‑related internship experience
Well‑rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular activities
High learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Willing to travel to various locations within the United States during the program
