Cleveland State Community College . We are looking for an experienced instructor to provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment. The role will involve teaching courses in various formats across multiple locations, including online, and managing administrative responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and teaching classes as assigned, following course descriptions, syllabi and departmental guidelines.

Beginning and ending all classes on schedule and covering all relevant learning outcomes.

Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior, communicating with students weekly, and responding to student emails promptly.

Evaluating students through varied methods and communicating scores in a timely manner.

Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email.

Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.

Submitting requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher.

Qualifications A Master’s degree in Philosophy, Humanities or Religious Studies from a regionally accredited institution or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of related qualifying fields. Three years teaching experience preferred. Experience with alternative instructional modes (hybrid, online, interactive, etc.) recommended.

Availability / Closing Date This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Future teaching assignments are on a term‑by‑term basis (fall, spring, summer). Postings close yearly on October 31. To keep your application active you will need to re‑apply each year.

Pay Rates

Master's degree: $550 per credit hour

Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD): $575 per credit hour

Doctorate: $600 per credit hour
