Position Summary Witherite Law Group and associated companies seeks professionals who want to join a high‑performing team committed to working together to accomplish our mission and uphold our values of People First, Unmatched Expertise, and Integrity Always. The Litigation Paralegal will manage a caseload of 50‑75 cases, assisting attorneys with drafting demand letters, pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. The position requires detailed auditing of cases, including medical bills, case expenses, and subrogation liens, and ensuring accurate case‑data management in Filevine. The paralegal will also assist in trial preparation, communicate with clients and external parties, and maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct. Experience with trucking litigation is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively manage a case load of 50‑75 cases
Accurately draft demand letters, pleadings, discovery and various motions
Continually communicate with clients, counsel, experts, and courts
Audit cases for all expenses (medical bills, case expenses, LOC providers, subrogation liens)
Accurately maintain case‑management data in Filevine (case‑management database)
Prepare trial documents and assist with trial preparation
Proficient in personal injury law involving motor vehicle collisions
Proficient in preparing discovery responses
Detail oriented with a focus on grammar and language arts
Professional appearance and behavior
Working knowledge of common deadlines and protocols of personal injury litigation
Trucking experience preferred
Qualifications
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email
Excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and critical thinking abilities
College degree or comparable paralegal certification and experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm (5+ years preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case‑management software (Filevine preferred)
Physical Requirements
Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions
Stationary position – must be able to remain stationary up to 50% of the time
Occasional movement within office, including accessing file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery; may occasionally ascend/descend stairs to other floors
Dexterity required for operating computer and office machinery such as copier/printer
Occasional lifting of supplies up to 10 pounds for presentation or event needs
Effective communication of information; clear expression of ideas in various situations
Attention to detail and observation required at close range
