Sr. Financial Analyst-Decision Support (Hybrid position)

Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst-Decision Support. In this role, the successful candidate under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Decision Support will produce financial reports and analyses that assist in monitoring the hospital's financial performance. The role includes monthly and quarterly reporting, projects, and ad hoc reporting using EPSi, Tableau, Tableau Prep, Data Bricks, Alteryx, Excel, SQL, and other appropriate software.
Job Responsibilities
Develop an in-depth understanding of the internal costing system (EPSi) and run accurate EPSi reports.
Support day‑to‑day operations related to the monthly costing close process of the EPSi Decision Support System including general ledger revenue and expense analyses, direct and indirect departmental reviews, and EPIC cost center creation and mapping.
Support new and ongoing projects related to the identification of cost‑saving opportunities, physician resource utilization analyses, revenue budget creation, quality/cost analysis, and dashboard creation/review.
Support the Hospital’s Value Based Management projects, labor productivity tool, financial dashboards, benchmarking activities, and other projects as needed.
Package and summarize analytical findings with clear results and thoughtful recommendations.
Independently develop analytical frameworks for large, complex data sets and exercise discretion and judgment in analytical approach.
Proactively communicate to management any arising issues or barriers to meet timelines and deliverables.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and act independently on resolving or improving data integrity and process flow.
Demonstrate initiative in taking on new tasks and responsibilities, exhibiting creative thinking and proposing innovative solutions.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities The ideal candidate would be experienced intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Excel, familiar with cost accounting, data reconciliation, data analysis, and data visualization. The candidate should be comfortable with large data sets, have strong communication skills, and a team‑oriented perspective.
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a business subject (e.g., accounting, finance, economics) and 3–5 years of related experience. A graduate degree in business or public administration is preferred. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, problem‑solving skills, and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sub‑totals, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications • High proficiency in Tableau, Excel, Access, and Decision Support reporting programs. • Experience working with a decision support/cost accounting system. • Extensive experience in data transformation and manipulation. • Basic understanding of database relationships and structures. • Experience in Business Intelligence/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 – $100,700.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
