Job Description Bring your customer service skills to the Medford DMV as a transportation services representative. In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining a driver license, registering vehicles and issuing permits and license plates. Additionally, you will administer knowledge, skill and vision tests to potential drivers, ensure correct fees are collected, provide information about regulations and policies and administer behind-the-wheel drive tests. A Day In The Life
Help the public register vehicles and apply for permits.
Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
Produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
Administer, correct and explain driver license tests.
Conduct and interpret results of driver vision tests.
Perform physical examinations of vehicles and verify vehicle identification numbers.
Prepare daily bank deposits and account for sensitive inventory.
Occasionally perform relief work in other DMV offices within the region.
May require standing for extended periods of time, working in inclement weather, working an irregular schedule and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute with a high level of accuracy. A typing assessment will be conducted at the time of interview for selected candidates.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of public contact/customer service experience involving face‑to‑face or phone service.
Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
Three months of experience collecting money and making change.
Completion of an associate’s degree substitutes for one year of the public contact experience.
Special Qualifications Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre‑employment driving record checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
