Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will manage the daily functions of the HR department, including hiring, interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with training, certifications, and assessments.
- Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates; collaborate with managers.
- Conduct background and eligibility checks.
- Implement orientation and recognition programs.
- Administer HR programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, and employee relations.
- Handle inquiries from staff and applicants; participate in disciplinary and termination meetings.
- Maintain legal compliance and stay updated on HR trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of employment laws and proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems.
- Bachelors degree in HR, Business, or related field; 1+ year HR management experience preferred; SHRM-CP certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods; ability to lift 15 pounds; access to all organization facilities.
Other details include hours (Monday-Friday, 8-5), compensation ($35-38/hr), location (fully onsite in Philadelphia, PA), and contract-to-hire status.
