Compensation Range: $100,000 - 130,000

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, overseeing all transactional accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Cash Application. This individual will also assist with the monthly financial close, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. The Accounting Manager will supervise a team of three staff members and ensure that all accounting activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and GAAP.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a team of three accounting staff covering AP, AR, and Cash Application functions.
- Establish clear performance goals and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Oversee daily AP processing, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments and adherence to approval workflows.
- Manage AR and cash application processes, ensuring prompt and accurate posting of receipts and resolution of customer payment issues.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all transactions in accordance with GAAP.
- Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Track capital and expense project expenditures, and upon completion, transfer capital projects to fixed assets for depreciation.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including variance analysis and account review.
- Assist the Controller with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Partner with FP&A and operational teams to ensure data accuracy and provide insight into working capital trends.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal control compliance.
- Support automation and system enhancement initiatives (ERP, reporting tools, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to SOX or internal audit control requirements, if applicable.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Treasury to resolve billing, cash application, and collection issues.
- Work with external auditors to support interim and annual audits.
- Work with external tax professionals to support the filing of quarterly and annual tax returns.
- Serve as a key liaison for system upgrades and process integrations within the finance function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or CPA‑track preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle EBS or similar).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month‑end close processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ledger reporting.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and process discipline.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with process improvement and system implementations preferred.
