About the Role We are the U.S. procurement hub of a Japanese manufacturing group specializing in aircraft production, seeking a Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to support procurement activities related to customized parts and hardware requested by the Japan Headquarters. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication with both domestic suppliers and Japan-based counterparts.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating purchasing operations from quotation through delivery, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate procurement of customized parts and hardware requested by Japan HQ, from intent to purchase through delivery. Solicit and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules, and issue purchase orders.
Maintain accurate order records, shipping notices, and supplier communications.
Conduct credit research and supplier evaluations prior to initiating trade.
Create and maintain daily price comparison charts and track delivery performance.
Communicate closely with Japan HQ, suppliers, inspection teams, and logistics partners to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance.
Resolve nonconformance issues by coordinating with suppliers, inspection teams, and QA departments.
Support supplier surveys and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide training or support to new buyers as needed.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Bilingual English/Japanese ability preferred (to communicate effectively with Japan HQ).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule & Benefits Monday–Friday, on-site (8:30 AM–5:00 PM)
