MTF Biologics
Overview
MTF Biologics processes tissue grafts from human donors that are used in a growing array of clinical applications – positively affecting lives across the globe. As a global nonprofit organization that saves and heals lives by honoring donated gifts and serving patients, we collaborate with the medical, scientific, as well as organ and tissue donation communities. Our goal is simple–do what's right for patients, surgeons, tissue donors, and their families through our guiding principles. The laboratory associate is an entry‑level position and is responsible for test method execution in accordance with validated MTF procedures and standards set forth by AATB, FDA, TGA, and USP. The laboratory associate will provide support to the laboratory staff in the qualification, implementation and continuation of test methods.
Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
Responsibilities
Perform test methods following laboratory systems of operation, current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) as well as current and approved laboratory operating procedures (OPs) and work instructions (Wis).
Ensure test methods are performed within sample hold times.
Maintain proficiency and certification for all test methods that training has been completed.
Enter data, generate labels, and track samples within the LIMS.
ReconcilCe/receive samples and maintain chain‑of‑custody documentation according to MTF documentation procedures.
Support MTF's QNQE and Engineering departments to provide documentation to support validations and special projects.
Maintain control of supply inventory to ensure adequate amounts for daily testing.
Perform monthly calibrations on micro‑liter pipettes and thermometers.
Identify and correct paperwork / data errors occurring during entry.
Maintain pre and post validation paperwork; provide necessary documentation to QA and R&D for studies.
Perform daily checks of laboratory equipment including ovens, incubators, hoods, shakers, and thermometers and enter results/documentation to equipment logbooks.
Perform laboratory assays, microbiological, physical and analytical testing as designated.
Review data for sample throughput daily.
Perform additional duties as assigned and trained.
Qualifications
B.S. in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or related science field required.
1 year of experience in an academic setting.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient using Microsoft Office and LIMS database.
Strong communication and organization skills and the ability to work independently and in a team. Weekends, holidays and overtime may be required.
Must be able to read very small print.
