Job Type: Full-time
Job Purpose The Power BI Developer plays a key role in designing, building, and maintaining insightful dashboards and reporting solutions that enhance visibility into business and clinical performance across a multi-site specialty dental organization. This role focuses on data visualization, automation, and scalability—ensuring leaders and field teams have timely, accurate, and actionable information to guide decisions and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports to support clinical, operational, and financial decision-making.
Build scalable semantic models and data solutions that ensure consistent measurement across practices and service lines.
Collaborate with analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into intuitive visual solutions.
Maintain and optimize datasets, refresh schedules, gateways, parameters, and overall report performance.
Implement data governance and security standards, including HIPAA‑compliant access controls.
Continuously enhance report usability through thoughtful layout, interactivity, and user experience.
Troubleshoot data or performance issues and ensure accuracy of KPIs and data logic.
Stay current on Power BI capabilities, healthcare reporting practices, and modern BI design standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
3–5 years of hands‑on experience developing Power BI dashboards in a healthcare or multi‑location environment.
Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL.
Experience integrating data from multiple systems (EHR, practice management, finance, HRIS, etc.).
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and relational database design.
Ability to communicate data concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Strong visual design sensibility focused on clarity, usability, and accessibility.
