The Project Engineer follows standard engineering procedures to direct the flow of engineering work and prepare deliverables. The role involves coordinating structural engineering design with other team members, providing input to the Project Manager on project planning and scheduling, and maintaining clear records of design decisions, calculations, and related documentation.
Position Summary As a Project Engineer, you will apply engineering principles to deliver high‑quality structural designs for mid‑ to high‑rise buildings using industry‑standard software (e.g., ETABS, RAM, RISA, SAFE, Revit, Rhino). You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, oversee field observations and inspections, and ensure compliance with local and national building codes.
Competencies
Develops knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, materials, and procedures within structural engineering and applies them to projects.
Performs field observations and inspections under guidance of senior team members.
Conducts structural design and analysis using Revit, Rhino, and other software tools.
Applies project design criteria and follows best practices in code compliance.
Collects and documents data, prepares calculations, and maintains clear records.
Reviews shop drawings to identify discrepancies between design documents and construction documents.
Communicates design results clearly in graphic form to supervisors.
Assists in project schedule and planning discussions with the Project Manager.
Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Develops critical thinking and analytical skills, breaking complex issues into manageable parts and evaluating solutions.
Communications Skills
Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, with clients, teammates, and management.
Writes clear summaries and correspondence for senior review.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related field) with five (5) years of experience in designing and analyzing mid‑to‑high rise buildings using ETABS, RAM, RISA, SAFE, etc.; or
Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related field) with three (3) years of experience in the same.
Three years of experience in structural analysis and preparing structural calculations.
Minimum (Required) Skills
Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
Understanding of standard construction practices and ability to collaborate with contractors.
Proficiency in Revit.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail‑oriented with strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
EIT or PE certification.
Experience with Grasshopper.
Salary Range Salary is anticipated to be $80,000 – $100,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications. The company expects to hire near the middle of the range.
