Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
Location: Winchester, CT
Overview We are seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to support process development, quoting, and production within a complex CNC machining environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, quoting experience, proficiency with MasterCam or Siemens NX software. This role offers the opportunity to work on high‑precision aerospace components in a collaborative, growth‑oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
Determine manufacturing methods, sequences, tooling, and raw materials for precision‑machined components.
Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for complex parts, including time studies and cost analysis.
Provide process engineering support to production, ensuring detailed and efficient process documentation.
Apply time standards to machining operations and input routing data into the ERP/database system.
Develop, optimize, and document CNC machining processes using MasterCam or Siemens NX software.
Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, CadKey, etc.) to design fixtures, develop process layouts, and create blueprints for internal and vendor use.
Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality personnel to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and maintain tight tolerances.
Support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives within a high‑mix, low‑volume environment.
Work directly with local vendors for outside processing and ensure quality and delivery expectations are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in a CNC machining or complex precision manufacturing environment; airfoil or aerospace component experience preferred.
Proficiency with MasterCam or Siemens NX for programming and process development.
Strong understanding of GD&T, technical drawings, and machining principles.
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD or CadKey.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for proper process routing.
