Responsibilities
Providing technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance and quality.
Performing all mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, repair or replacement of parts as directed.
Using hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines.
Executing hands‑on job duties on site, including sub‑contractor coordination and customer/internal communication.
Troubleshooting complicated mechanical and hydraulic problems on variable pitch/variable speed turbines.
Overseeing overhaul, troubleshooting and commissioning of Aeroderivative products at customer sites.
Leading in customer and contractor meetings to share and update action plans and to advise on technical solutions.
Ensuring internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated, followed and completed according to company standards.
Ensuring all in‑field activities are carried out safely complying with company Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications
Have a technical degree/program and 4+ years of experience as a mechanical technician on aircraft engines, aero‑derivative engines or other types of gas turbine technology.
Good mechanical/technical and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of rotating equipment: bolting, hydraulic bolting, flange management, small bore piping.
Have experience working in a mechanical role in an energy or oil and gas environment (or similar).
Display an impressive customer service‑orientation mindset and experience leading customers through tough decisions.
Be skilled at communicating complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding.
Have a deep awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and potential risks.
Be a motivated self‑starter and able to make key decisions and innovate solutions.
Be available to travel 70% of the time domestically and globally.
Flexible Working Patterns
Travel to and work on customer sites in line with customer requirements. The duration of the work at site and the hours of work at the site will be in line with customer requirements. In between work assignments, you will have free time in line with Baker Hughes working time guidelines and fatigue management provisions.
Working hours needed by the customer including 50‑75% traveling and working 50‑60 hours per week when needed.
