Overview The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a full‑time assistant/associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics. The rank is Assistant/Associate Professor, with potential for tenure.

Responsibilities

Provide primary‑care clinical services in the area hospital network, including Sunrise/Children’s Hospital, UMC/Children’s Hospital, and other assigned sites.

Cover the Newborn Nursery and deliver comprehensive neonatal care.

Deliver outpatient clinical care at the UNLV Medicine Faculty Practice plan clinic(s).

Participate in hospital, departmental, and university committees and lead or contribute to pediatric outreach activities and advocacy.

Serve as a faculty advisor and mentor for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Profile of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine has been transforming healthcare in Southern Nevada since 2017. Its mission is to serve patients, students, medical professionals, and the community as a transformational force for improving healthcare in Nevada. Faculty, students, residents, and fellows publish in top‑tier peer‑reviewed journals. UNLV Health provides care to >10,000 patients/month through 17 primary‑care and specialty clinics.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Board Eligibility or Certification in Pediatrics before the start date.

Eligibility for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance.

Valid credentials, evidence of unrestricted clinical privileges at affiliated hospitals, and the ability to obtain institutional privileges.

Experience in an academic medical institution (or demonstrable equivalency) and a track record of research and scholarly activity.

Eligible for tenure on a case‑by‑case basis, depending on verified credentials and promotion criteria.
