Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position:

Under direction, assists the Director of Purchasing‑Supply with purchasing, receiving and issuance of supplies. Responsible for the implementation and coordination of systems and procedures relating to inventory, storage and issuance of supplies. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Purchasing‑Supply.

Assists the Director of Purchasing‑Supply in coordinating the various functions of purchasing, receiving and issuance of supplies. Relieves the Director of Purchasing‑Supply in their absence.

Supervises the storage and control of supplies after acceptance.

Supervises the issuance of supplies in compliance with authorization and documentation procedures.

Analyzes the consumption of storeroom supplies and codes by the cost center or program.

Maintains storeroom inventory and reconciles inventory to general ledger controls.

Matches invoices with purchase orders and resolves discrepancies.

Negotiates and places routine purchase orders.

Prepares and consolidates purchase requisitions.

Prices purchase requests; obtains data from catalogues or by telephone or interview with vendors; settles questions within procedures established by the Director of Purchasing‑Supply.

Follows up and expedites overdue orders.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; and,

Three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or business administration, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity within relevant areas in settings related to a hospital, medical center or health care facility; and two (2) years of which must have been in a related management of purchasing capacity or,

Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The education cited above may be substituted for by experience on a year‑for‑year basis. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a High School or its educational equivalent.

Department Preferences

Knowledge of fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations and in particular Supply Chain Management.

Demonstrated leadership skills and progressive growth in career progression.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with executive leaders within a health system or equivalent setting.

Experience in operational improvement in Supply Chain with emphasis in programs such as LUM/JIT, inventory control systems and theory.

Proficiency in MS Office suite especially with Excel

Healthcare operations, warehouse inventory, PAR Management or Supply Chain

ERP functions and maintenance

Accounting principles, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, demand planning, market/supplier research and analysis

Previous healthcare, Supply Chain, or Materials Management experience

Detail oriented with strong planning, critical thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in supply chain management in a healthcare environment and operations
