Adjunct - Nursing
Husson University’s College of Health is seeking qualified candidates for part‑time adjunct teaching opportunities in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Candidates should have a master’s degree in nursing and be available to teach on the Bangor, Maine campus. Teaching and nurse practitioner experience desired but not required. Assignments depend on the needs of the nursing program, but expertise in medical surgery and obstetrics is desirable.
Potential Course Assignments
Fundamentals of Nursing
Introduction to Medical Surgical Nursing
Medical Surgical Nursing II
Women and Infants (Lab)
Historical Perspectives of Healthcare
Evidence-Based Practice for Practicing Nurses
Examples of Duties
Teach assigned nursing courses during the fall and/or spring semester.
Collaborate with full‑time faculty to maintain common syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
Submit timely grades and assessment data in accordance with university policies.
Typical Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in nursing
Experience: Teaching experience in a 4‑year accredited BSN program preferred. Commitment to evidence‑based teaching practices and continuous improvement.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Supplemental Information Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; candidates will remain in the adjunct pool for one academic year.
Undergraduate Course – Masters Prepared $933.33 maximum per credit hour*
Undergraduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour*
Graduate Course – Masters Level Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour*
Graduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour*
Rate Note Rate is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course assigned.
Lab Sections Undergraduate Masters Prepared $1,150.00 per credit hour
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,250.00 per credit hour
