Registered Nurse providing quality patient care to cardiac patients with pulmonary hypertension and cardio‑oncology diseases. The RN performs as an educator in matters related to the specialty area. Manages clinical activities, including medication management, insurance appeals, discharge support, triage patient calls, and patient education. May establish administrative policies and procedures for Center of Excellence applications.
Essential Functions
Coordinate with providers to educate patients on diseases related to pulmonary hypertension and cardio‑oncology.
Medication management, including prior authorization, appeals and education.
Triage patient calls, assist with chart escalation.
Patient education for hospital discharges and inpatient medication training.
Additional Responsibilities
Work cooperatively within own department and with other services to create a system of quality health care delivery.
Maintain current knowledge in area(s) of clinical supervision.
Manage department(s) with consideration for safety.
Participate in, and provide leadership for, development of policies – department of nursing and unit specific.
Determine staffing requirements and communicate those as appropriate.
Interview and hire all personnel in department(s).
Conduct meaningful appraisal of employees in an ongoing and timely manner.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
At least 3–5 years of clinical experience.
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
