Job Description Summary This position is responsible for the management and guidance of the department-assigned staff members. He/She assists the Director in coordination of ongoing education, development, and training of staff to achieve department objectives and goals.
Responsibilities And Duties

Administratively manages department personnel, including monitoring quality and quantity of activity of personnel as to number of admissions processed and cash requested and collected. Ensures bills are processed daily and comply with all governmental and Payor regulations. Coordinates and monitors workflow and productivity. Schedules time off/vacations, coordinates on‑going education for staff to achieve department objectives and goals.

Serves as liaison for various departments to resolve issues such as patient billing problems, audit requests on accounts, rebill requests and other billing problems to prevent possible litigation issues. Makes necessary adjustments on accounts due to cash settlement arrangements with various sources.

Coordinates departmental procedures for identifying financial aid recipients with Financial Aid Program Director. Reviews financial aid applications and authorizes charity discounts to $20,000; reviews and approves Ohio HCAP applications. Approves and processes all accounts payable invoices, petty cash, purchase orders and expense forms.

Prepares reconciliation to general ledger accounts including various receivable and cash accounts. Processes journal entries for monthly financial statements and audit procedures. Assists in preparation of annual audit by compiling data as requested with complete analysis, using several sources and trends activity.

Develops and/or recommends policies and procedures for department; prepares special projects, reports, gather data, etc. as requested.

Hires, counsels, and disciplines employees; evaluates performance and recommends merit increases; responsible for training, development and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree (Required)
