What You Will Do

Facilitate and perform all aspects of credentialing for the Centralized Credentialing Organization, including appointment and reappointment of Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (TJC, NCQA, AAAHC, and appropriate state agencies). Prepare files for review.

Administer and maintain comprehensive practitioner database files and records, ensuring the integrity and completeness of documentation.

Execute the Medical Staff and Allied Health privileging process in accordance with the MHMH Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Provide oversight, administrative, and technical support to the Medical Staff Credentials Committee.

Prepare confidential or routine memoranda, letters, reports, meeting minutes, and other correspondence for the Department.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Formal Training Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Associate’s Degree

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration

Work Experience Requirements

3–5 years Credentialing experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skill and proficiency in performing administrative responsibilities commensurate with requisite Education/Training.

Significant working knowledge of State regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including TJC, NCQA, AAAHC, and CMS standards.

Ability to function with minimal supervision and to communicate effectively with high-level Associates and community medical staff.

Diplomacy, good judgment, and tactfulness.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; familiarity with mainframe systems, databases, and spreadsheets.

Typing speed of 55 words per minute with minimal errors.

Deductive reasoning and ability to use reference materials.

Independent assignment handling with analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer service skills under stressful conditions.

Process improvement and workflow efficiency experience.

Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain workflow control.

Supervision Provided by this Position There are no lead or supervisory responsibilities assigned to this job.

Physical Demands

Occasional travel to other facilities and physician offices.

Read, write, and communicate orally and in writing.

Concentration for extended periods requiring technical attention to detail.

Lift and carry up to 20 lbs. periodically; push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stand, walk, sit, squat, and kneel periodically.

Good balance, coordination, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
