The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) provides critical administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal teams, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The LAA collaborates regularly with LSAs, LEAs, and attorneys to ensure work is properly allocated and completed on time and often supports projects requiring advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office and legal software.

Key Responsibilities

Provide practice-specific administrative support to multiple attorneys; prioritize tasks based on workflow and deadlines.

Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and presentations.

Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems within the firm’s DMS.

Collaborate with LAAs/LEAs on complex projects and help guide LSAs as needed.

Manage assignments within the firm’s workflow tools, including time entry and expense tasks.

Support billing processes: handle approvals, coordinate with billing teams, and follow up on final invoices.

Handle confidential information with discretion and promote professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED; 2+ years of experience in a legal or similar administrative role.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., iManage, Aderant, DocXTools).

Ability to adapt to new technology, including AI-enabled tools.

High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort working under pressure.

Familiarity with legal terminology and law firm best practices.

Experience with collaboration platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
