Job Summary Manage and coordinate the operations of the university’s Greek and student life unit or initiative. (Note: VSU will not sponsor new H‑1B visas until further notice.)
Responsibilities
Supervise personnel (30%): Allocate work, train, promote, enforce procedures, resolve problems, evaluate performance, and recommend actions.
Manage and participate in the daily operations of the unit (15%).
Develop or assist with the implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and processes (15%).
Research new trends and developments; present recommendations as required (15%).
Participate in planning and goal setting for short‑ and long‑range plans (10%).
Develop and implement projects and programs to support established goals (10%).
Represent the department in meetings and committees (5%).
Supervisor Expectations
Greek Life Oversight
Provide strategic oversight and daily management of all Greek Life councils, fostering strength of CPC and IFC.
Ensure compliance with university policies, risk management, and national expectations.
Serve as primary advisor, attend weekly council meetings, guide recruitment, policy adherence, community development, and crisis response.
Organize leadership retreats, roundtables, and trainings that engage all Greek‑letter organizations.
Maintain relationships with national headquarters, local alumni/AE advisors, and campus stakeholders.
Programming Experience
Lead campus‑wide programming, including signature events and culturally relevant experiences.
Assist in planning and execution of events such as Welcome Week, Homecoming, Fire It Up Fridays, and Greek Week.
Collaborate with partners to develop co‑curricular programs aligned with goals.
Use assessment tools to evaluate event effectiveness and adjust planning.
Leadership Development
Create and facilitate development opportunities for student leaders in Greek Life, Student Organizations, and the broader community.
Coordinate workshops, retreats, and certificate programs on conflict resolution, communication, ethical decision‑making, and identity‑conscious leadership.
Integrate Blazer Ready competencies and co‑curricular transcript initiatives.
Supervision
Directly supervise two Student Life Coordinators and student staff, overseeing workload, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
Foster a team‑oriented environment with regular check‑ins, coaching, and clear performance benchmarks.
Ensure team responsibilities align with departmental goals and student development theories.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a specified field.
Three (3) years of related work experience.
Professional licensure, certification, or designation may be required in some areas.
Proposed Salary $62,158
Conditions of Employment

Training

USG Cybersecurity Training (twice yearly).
Job‑specific training (e.g., FMLA, Worker's Compensation, Budget Manager, Purchasing Training, Defensive Driving).
