Job Description Summary The CT, Mammography, or MRI Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/Mammo/MRI Dual Registered Technologist performs high‑quality Radiology and CT/Mammo/MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, Mammography, or MRI, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Positions patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.
Minimum Training And Education Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Work Experience: 2 years. Graduate of an AMA approved school or training program, a 24‑month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training (e.g., military). Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT, Mammography, or MRI Tech. Certification required in modality area post radiology certification. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, and from elevated areas. Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors, work from elevated areas, work in confined spaces, kneel, bend at the waist, squat, and perform repetitive motions with hands/arms. Ability to reach in all directions, possess good finger dexterity, fully use both legs, fully use both hands/arms, lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted, and lift 15 lbs. from 36 inches. Maintain 20/40 vision, hearing acuity, and perform fine motor movements in a latex‑safe environment. Other sensory and respirator requirements may apply.
