Staff Accountant
to join our accounting team. In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. You’ll collaborate closely with finance leadership on reporting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen our overall financial operations. NOTE(s): Schedule:
On-site for the first 90 days; eligible for remote Fridays thereafter Key Responsibilities Month-End Close:
Prepare and post journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and research discrepancies to ensure accurate financial results. Accounts Receivable:
Manage monthly invoicing, reconcile customer accounts, and support project-related billing activities. Financial Analysis:
Perform variance analyses and identify root causes of fluctuations; develop and present recommendations to management. General Ledger Management:
Maintain and update general ledger accounts, prepare account reconciliations, and generate financial statements and supporting reports. Audit Preparation:
Provide documentation and assistance during internal and external audits; collaborate with Payroll, A/R, and A/P teams as needed. Process Improvement:
Contribute to the creation and refinement of accounting policies, procedures, and workflow enhancements. Tax & Compliance:
Prepare business license renewals, property tax filings, and other required reports for applicable jurisdictions. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Partner with the Accounting Manager to analyze spending trends, revenue forecasts, and budget variances. Collaboration & Communication:
Build strong working relationships across departments and provide responsive, high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Additional Duties:
Perform other accounting tasks or special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred (equivalent professional experience will be considered). 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Proficiency with
Excel
(VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables required; Macros a plus). Experience with
NetSuite
or another large-scale ERP system strongly preferred. Strong understanding of reconciliations, fixed assets, depreciation, and property tax accounting. Background in healthcare, correctional healthcare, or another highly regulated industry is a plus. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Seniority level
