Reports To Director of Revenue Cycle / Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Revenue Cycle and Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support services to ensure effective and efficient office operations.

Position Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; bookkeeping and business‑oriented courses preferred, especially in healthcare.

One year of Business Office experience directly related to the accounts receivable function.

Experience in an acute care hospital or similar institutional setting is desirable.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Competencies

Process day‑to‑day accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Generate and distribute claims accurately and on time, including reminder notices.

Monitor accounts receivable aging and identify overdue accounts.

Contact patients to follow up on outstanding balances and negotiate payment plans.

Escalate unresolved accounts to management teams as needed.

Provide regular AR metrics updates to management.

Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account discrepancies.

Ensure patient satisfaction when processing accounts receivable.

Professional Requirements

Adhere to dress code; maintain a neat, professional appearance.

Complete annual education requirements if applicable.

Maintain regulatory requirements.

Wear identification while on duty.

Attend annual evaluations and participate actively.

Report to work on time and follow schedule; complete work within designated time.

Attend meetings as appropriate.

Working Conditions
