Position Overview Note:

To ensure proximity to key markets and ease of travel, candidates must reside within 50 miles of at least one of the following major airports: LGA (NY), JFK (NY), BOS (MA), ORD (IL), MDW (IL), ATL (GA), PHL (PA), or MIA (FL).

CFOx is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across our advisory service lines — Transaction, CFO, & Accounting Services.

This role will be instrumental in driving the firm’s expansion by identifying and securing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and revenue across key industry verticals.

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing firm and execute a 3‑year plan to build out the firm’s business development function, processes, and pipeline.

The ideal candidate must possess an exceptional professional network—particularly within private equity and related financial services sectors—and demonstrate the ability to convert relationships into high-value opportunities. Leveraging these relationships is critical to sourcing high-value opportunities, broadening the firm’s market presence, and consistently securing new engagements.

If the ideal candidate is located outside our current office locations, we’re open to establishing a new office in that market to support their success.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

Develop and execute a strategic business development plan aligned with firm-wide growth objectives.

Originate and manage a pipeline of high-value opportunities across Transaction, CFO, & Accounting service lines.

Cultivate and expand relationships with C‑suite executives, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and other strategic partners (e.g., investment banks, law firms, audit & tax firms, lenders, etc.).

Drive brand awareness and market visibility for CFOx through proactive outreach and positioning.

Collaborate with firm’s service line leaders to craft compelling client solutions and proposals.

Represent CFOx at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings to promote services and build relationships.

Lead or contribute to RFP responses, pitch development, and pricing strategies for new engagements.

Monitor and report business development metrics, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts using CRM tools.
