Equity Analyst - Industrials
Principal Financial Group is seeking an experienced Small Cap Industrials Equity Analyst to join its Global Equity research team, working across multiple portfolios and delivering proprietary research and investment recommendations.
What You'll Do
Generate alpha through investment recommendations based upon detailed proprietary analysis of small cap industrial companies (market cap
Interact frequently with company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative insights.
Partner closely with the Industrial sector team lead, analysts, and portfolio managers to provide outperformance through stock selection within the research process and portfolio constraints.
Build and maintain detailed financial and market-oriented models to forecast company performance and assess security valuation, incorporating macroeconomic and industry-specific factors.
Generate timely, actionable investment ideas and communicate insights through written reports, models, presentations, and investment-committee discussions.
Maintain research coverage of existing investments within industrials for multiple portfolios.
Who You Are
5+ years equity investment experience in industrials, preferably with at least 2 years on the buyside.
Proven track record of generating consistent alpha through actively covered investment recommendations.
Advanced knowledge of FactSet and Bloomberg.
Ability to distill industry data and trends into actionable investment insights.

Highly intellectually curious with a passion for investing and public markets.
MBA or CFA highly preferred.
Entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter who wants to build an individual franchise within a dedicated team.

Extensive use of AI within security research.
Humility and self-awareness.
Compensation Salary ranges: $137,000 - $236,000 per year, with potential for bonuses and other incentives based on performance. Base pay range reflects two experience levels, determined by the hiring manager. All compensation is finalized at the time of offer.
Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried employees, allowing paid vacation, personal or short-term illness. No accrual bank or fixed number of days.
Location New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, or Des Moines – location arrangement will be determined in working with your leader.
