Our community bank client is seeking a Universal Banker/Teller in the New Orleans, LA market. The successful candidate will perform customer service functions, maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers, and work periodically on the teller line.

The position offers a generous hourly rate of up to $29/hr plus incentives and excellent benefits.

(This is not a remote position).

Universal Banker/Teller responsibilities include: Manage customer bank accounts: open, close, and oversee transactions. Resolve issues with banking services and accounts. Answer customer calls and resolve basic deposit and loan inquiries. Perform account maintenance for banking product changes. Follow bank operating procedures. Handle reporting tasks as assigned. Escalate issues to supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction. Provide prompt and efficient customer transactions. Receive deposits, verify amounts, and record transactions. Assist with bank-by-mail functions where available. Issue traveler’s checks, money orders, and U.S. Savings Bonds. Balance cash drawer daily and report discrepancies. Keep teller station stocked with supplies. Cash checks with proper verification. Cross-sell bank services like safe deposit boxes and traveler’s checks. Process loan payments and reconcile balances. Report equipment malfunctions. Who Are You?

Skills and experience you bring: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least two years of customer service experience. Experience in loan sales, application processing, and loan closing at a financial institution. Understanding credit reports, liaising with members, scheduling closings, and processing loan documents. Ability to sell ancillary insurance products. Ability to build positive relationships and demonstrate integrity and dedication.
