Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team to ensure equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and training.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Maintenance Operations
Plan and schedule preventive maintenance programs.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.
Help manage Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) autonomous maintenance activities.
Implement conditional maintenance methods to optimize equipment reliability.
Implement predictive maintenance strategies using data and analytics.
Equipment & Facility Management
Ensure all machinery and equipment are operating efficiently.
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement.
Manage facility maintenance activities including building systems, utilities, and infrastructure.
Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance for HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and other facility-related systems.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for facility operations.
Manage MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and maintenance part inventory to ensure availability of critical spares and optimize inventory costs.
Compliance & Safety
Enforce safety protocols and ensure team adherence to OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and facilities.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and reduce costs.
Support implementation of lean manufacturing and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Recommend upgrades or replacements of aging equipment.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
May require occasional evening or weekend work.
Physical activity including walking, climbing, and lifting.
Preferred Certifications
OSHA 30-hour certification
Maintenance Management Certification (CMM)
PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
